How many joules of energy will a stock tank heater rated at 1500 watts use in a 24-hour period?

1 watt = 1 Joule per second
1500 watts = 1500 Joules per second
24 hours = 60 minutes = (60 * 60) = 3600 seconds

1500 watt = 1500 J/s * 3600 s = 5.4 * 10^6 Joules

Power = Energy ÷ time
1500 = Energy ÷ 3600
Energy = 1500 * 3600 = 5.4 * 10^6 Joules

    Joule is a watt-second. So you have:

    1500 watts x 24 hours x 60 mins/hr x 60 seconds/min = 129,600,000 watt-seconds or joules of energy.

    This may also be expressed as 129 Mega-Joules.

    Hope this helps,
